This is from my first cooking class in 1994. 34 years old and I was just learning to cook. And in Japan no less! We served this annually for cherry blossom viewing picnics for 5 years. A crowd pleaser.
24 whole dates, pitted 24 whole unsalted almonds, toasted until golden 8 slices of bacon, each cut into 3 pieces 24 wooden picks
1. Preheat oven to 350F 2. Stuff each date with a toasted almond. Wrap a piece of bacon around the outside of each date, securing with a wooden pick. 3. Place the dates on a baking sheet and bake for 20 to 30 minutes. 4. Remove from the oven and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately.
