This is a special family recipe from Allison’s family that has been passed down from generation to generation.
¼ cup of kikkoman soy sauce (not low sodium) 3 Tablespoons clover honey 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar 1.5 teaspoons garlic powder 1.5 teaspoons ground ginger ¾ cup of corn oil 1 finely chopped green onion 1.5-2lbs flank steak
In blender, mix together soy, honey, vinegar, garlic powder, ginger, and oil. Blend for 2-5 minutes. Prick meat with fork on both sides, place in a small pan and pour marinade over. Marinade for at least 4 hours (ideally overnight) and flip meat every so often if you can. Steak should be swimming in sauce. 5 min each side for med rare, Slice diagonal to serve. For well done, 7 min on one side and 6 on the other. Save marinade and heat up in microwave or on the stove until sides start to bubble. We typically double this recipe for one flank steak regardless of the size of the steak.
